January sees the publication of this innovative new textbook, edited by Richard Jackson and Samuel J. Sinclair. Contemporary Debates on Terrorism deals with the key issues in terrorism studies, an increasingly important subject matter in the contemporary world.
Yehezekel Dror is one of Israel’s leading authorities on public policy, having won the Israel Prize for Management in 2005. He has served as an adviser to think tanks and to the Israeli government, as well as recently being appointed as member of the Winograd Commission on the Second Lebanon War, as reported by Yonatan Touval in the January 2012 edition of Haaretz. It therefore comes as no surprise that his recently published book is a compelling work, offering a fascinating insight into Israeli national security challenges and responses.
Dr Thomas Rid is a Reader in War Studies at King’s College London. He is also a non-resident fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations in the School for Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, in Washington, DC.

It provides a framework for understanding the use of sexual violence in war, and how individual experiences are shaped by national and international discourses.
